Weight watching

Me this morning 7am:

In a couple of weeks I'm getting weighed to make sure all that milk is fattening me up. Mummy got weighed tonight too although she wants to go the opposite direction on the scales!

We took a trip to Ikea today in my sling and I had a milk while mummy had a free cuppa. We actually managed to leave without buying a thing! After that we visted Tesco for mum's contact lense appointment. I had a sleep as it was all pretty dull.

Daddy went out with his band tonight so mummy and I had a good chat and read my fav spots and dots book. We also played games where she pretended to eat my ears. It was great fun until I got a bit overexcited so  had to calm down with some cuddles.  Night night!

4 weeks old today!

Today I've mainly been hanging at home, listening to mummy singing nursery rhymes (badly). In the afternoon we took a quick trip to Mothercare in my sling where mummy bought a new breast pump. She has this deluded idea to express milk and let daddy feed me now and again. Let's see about that!

In the evening Daddy had to go out for dinner with work people so me and mum snuggled and watched tv.

Here's a nice photo of me with my book...

The road to recovery

The litter of dad's cold!
I haven't had a chance to write this week because on Wednesday mummy had to take me to hospital in an ambulance car. I had caught mummy's cold (and so has Daddy) and was breathing in very short breaths so she thought it was better to get it checked out. The ambulance man was friendly but it took a long time in the hospital - pretty much all day. The doctor said I maybe had the start of bronchilolitis which is very common in babies so mummy had to keep a special watch on me. I felt pretty stuffed up with cold but I was managing to feed well so the doctor sent me home.

It's taken quite a few days of staying at home in the warm and lots of sleeps cuddled up to mummy but I'm now 100% better! I have been catching up on my feeds this last couple of days and staying awake A LOT in the day so that the blog has had to wait!

Me and my cousin Ebbi Paige

As I felt so much better at the weekend and we all needed a break from house confinement, we took a trip down to Grandma Carol and Grandad Derek's to be looked after! My cousins were all there being their usual silly selves. My favourite quote of the weekend was Luke "I couldn't find underpants so I used my vest instead" Sewell.

In other news, yesterday mummy tried to take me for the first walk outside in a week and a half but I didn't feel like it so I cried until she took me home (it didn't take me long to wear her down!) Then in the afternoon we went to Asda for some supermarket shopping. I really liked all the colours and sounds and it sent me to sleep in my chair.

Today I've been dancing to the Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce with mummy, and when I got bored of that we had a look at some interesting objects. Mummy was much more interested than me in them really. My favourite thing at the moment is looking at the net curtains out of the window.

I have been making much more noise this week - gurgling noises mainly and short little shouts. I'm also enjoying my 'Spots and Dots' book that Carrie bought me. I'll post a photo as soon as I have one showing me suitably attentive! Right now I'm having a liitle nap. I'll write more tomorrow! bye! xx

Daddy's last day of Paternity Leave

We're still all pretty full of cold so again today we stayed in the house and recovered. I now have a sad little cough but my nose is still clear so it's not interfering with my love of milk thankfully. The health visitor paid me another visit this morning and told mummy to keep an eye on my cough and she weighed me. The good news is I'm now 9lb 1oz and growing really well so all that breast feeding time is obviously paying off!

While I lazed around, Daddy took a whole lot of photos of me.

After that, I played a bit on my play mat, but eventually succumbed to sleep again!

Mummy read me my first book today (the one grandad bought with the moving pictures inside). I've got to be honest though - I spent most of the time looking at the ceiling while she read it. I just find the ceiling so fascinating!!

Well, that's me for another tough day!

Bye for now!

Lazy Weekend

Today I have been looking after mummy while she's been poorly. Daddy took a picture of me looking cross eyed which I thought was pretty cruel.
In the evening we went out for dinner with all my new friends for Sheena's 30th Birthday and Leaving party. I was pretty sleepy though so just had a kip through dinner and didn't wake up until I got home. I still attracted lots of ladies to admire me even in my sleep. I think everyone else who was awake had a pretty great time!

Passports, Play and Post Prandials

I've had a quiet few days as mummy has been poorly with a cold. We did take a quick trip into town on Wednesday to make me a British citizen though. This also let mummy apply for my first  passport. Mummy had to prop me up while daddy took the photo - unfortunately I appear to have lost my neck in the process. Still, I am pretty handsome all the same....

On Thursday I made a personal break through when I discovered the hands at the end of my arms. This came in really handy when I wanted to play with my toys!

On Friday I had a new visitor - Karen - Mummy's friend from Seaton. She was super snuggly and I was very content in her arms even though I was wide awake! She bought me a very cool monkey outfit for when I'm a bit bigger. Thanks Karen!
Mummy and daddy also took me out for lunch to Frankie and Benny's. All the background noise made it conducive to a nice long nap. I had a liquid lunch while daddy had a burger.

The second Tuesday of my life

Today I woke up in time to see daddy off to the dentist. Mummy and I spent some quality time together (feeding). When daddy got back he had bought mummy some beautiful lilies, a card and later a very special surprise for her bracelet to say thank you for giving birth to me. Mummy was very happy with this, especially the little golden baby carriage. All the gold ones are new!
Later we had a nice surprise when Uncle Jamie came to the door! He had been working at Seaton so had called in on the way back for a cuppa. We had a cuddle before he got on his way. I was getting a bit fidgety in the house so mummy and daddy took me for a little walk in the countryside until it was dark. I had a quick bath before we went to Hester at the chiropractor's, as daddy has been getting increasingly creaky this week - it must be the stress!
When we got back I was pretty tired as I'd spent the majority of the day fairly alert. Mummy took this picture of me look like my cute self.
I can't wait for tomorrow! Two weeks in the world already!
