The second Tuesday of my life

Today I woke up in time to see daddy off to the dentist. Mummy and I spent some quality time together (feeding). When daddy got back he had bought mummy some beautiful lilies, a card and later a very special surprise for her bracelet to say thank you for giving birth to me. Mummy was very happy with this, especially the little golden baby carriage. All the gold ones are new!
Later we had a nice surprise when Uncle Jamie came to the door! He had been working at Seaton so had called in on the way back for a cuppa. We had a cuddle before he got on his way. I was getting a bit fidgety in the house so mummy and daddy took me for a little walk in the countryside until it was dark. I had a quick bath before we went to Hester at the chiropractor's, as daddy has been getting increasingly creaky this week - it must be the stress!
When we got back I was pretty tired as I'd spent the majority of the day fairly alert. Mummy took this picture of me look like my cute self.
I can't wait for tomorrow! Two weeks in the world already!

The day I met my health visitor

Well, today I thought mummy had been sleeping in a bit too much in the morning so I thought I'd retrain her. So I woke up at 6am and stayed awake until 9.30ish when I let her grab a shower. Mainly I have been doing my favourite thing - drinking milk!!
Mummy and daddy dragged me to see another nursery which they liked a bit better than the first one, although mummy still seemed pretty keen not to ever let me out of her own arms, which I thought was a good sign because I like it there.
Anyway after that we went to mummy's work at P&G and all the ladies cooed over me for a while even though all I did was sleep. I'm a bit worried about the hair on my head getting worn away with all the kissing and hair smelling that goes on at the moment!
As if that weren't enough excitement for the day, this afternoon my  brand new health visitor came to see me. There was a lot of boring chit chat with mummy and daddy, then finally she weighed me which if I'm honest I didn't enjoy that much because she stripped me naked. I think I expressed that I wasn't a fan of this quite articulately below:
BEFORE

AFTER
I am now 8lb 6oz, so I've actually put on 3.5oz since I was born. This is pretty good going as babies often lose weight in their first two weeks.
After some consolation cuddles, we went on a quick trip to Tesco to buy contact lenses for mummy, in which I experienced my first supermarket trolley baby seat. Not that I remember this because as usual from car to trolley I was fast asleep.
Daddy took this opportunity to take lots of artistic pictures of my dry little feet.

After a long busy day I finally conked out and slept all evening (waking for the occasional feed).

What a day!!

New Year, New Baby!

Since I was born I have been keeping mummy and daddy busy so they haven't had time to blog anything but today I have given mummy a ten minute break to get some photos and words down. I may still get hungry and start to cry any minute though so let's see how that goes!

At the moment I'm feeding every couple of hours and sleeping the rest of the time although this morning I decided to stay awake between 9.30am and 1.30pm just to keep mum and dad on their toes. I finally gave into sleep when mummy took me on a stroll around Sainsburys to get some biscuits and vegetable stock (boring!).

This morning I had a bath which I really enjoyed. Daddy took a video and some stills came out pretty well of my cute face.
As I said I've been wide awake today but I can't say the same for those two - they look a bit sleepy sometimes. Who knows why when there's so much fun to be had!!

Christmas Day

Well as promised day 1 of the blog for baby Pastorino who is refusing to come out yet.

Mummy and daddy celebrated without them in style, as you can see!

The day started with some present unwrapping...
....and some silly hats

the usual phone calls to friends and family....
Then onwards and upwards to the feast which I finally roped Paolo into helping with the sprouts and peeling chestnuts. He said this work wasn't worthy of him but never mind!!
We obviously had to crack a cracker (Paolo got his customary toolkit)
.....and open a bottle of bubbly.
But the real proof was in the carving. As usual Paolo did a splendid job. The cooking wasn't bad either even if I do say so myself!!
After all that, we both felt very full and sleepy so we vegged out on the sofa watching 'Happy Feet' and a variety of other cartoons. So in other words, the usual Christmas day. Hoping tomorrow will bring in an appearance from another friendly face, but not the guy who comes down the chimney!
